This is a poster for my friend Corey Woodruff's photo exhibition, based around an entry from one of Woody Guthrie's journals entitled "New Years Rulin’s", which was a list of resolutions Woody made in 1933. Corey took these resolutions and made a photo representing each one, in honor of Guthrie's 100th birthday.

We decided to showcase one of the props from his photo shoots, a recreation of an iconic guitar with hand-painted lettering, and pair it with a vintage camera and film. It is a simple composition but dramatically lit and elegant in its austerity. In post-processing I put the actual text from Woody's journal on the backdropto add a bit of texture to the background. The use of the formal serif typeface and treatment is meant as a contrast to the hand painted lettering on the guitar.
